30 Day Challenge: Day 2

Day 2: Where you'd like to be in 10 years

(Be sure to check in on Jolene as she journeys through this with me...)

Thirty-two years old. That's where I'll be in 10 years. Wow. No one can predict where the future will actually take me, but that's not what the question asks. It asks where I'd LIKE to be in 10 years. So here's where I'd love to be in 10 years...

Married, with a start on my small clan (I want 4 kids, eventually). Hopefully living somewhere in this area: Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, etc. I hope to live on a small plot of land in the semi-country (not in the boondocks, but a little bit off the beaten path). Maybe I'll even throw a Goldendoodle in the mix, since I've fallen in love with Mom and Dad's two so much. We'll see if I'm up for that rigorous training process... Part time photographer, full-time stay-at-home Mom. Having graduated with a Bachelors degree from Southern, done a lot more traveling, and made a difference in this world for Jesus.

Yeah, my dreams are simple. Some would say I'm not dreaming big enough. But for me, the things listed above are more than enough. It's the little things in life that bring true joy and contentment.

That's where I want to be in 10 years. But the great God I serve has never let me down, not once. Even when things are painful and tough, He brings beauty in the end. So even if His plan for me 10 years from now is no where close to what I'm dreaming of, I can rest assured that it will be perfect. Not without trials and frustrations, but perfect still, because He is in control.

  1. It really is fun to think about ten years from now. I, too find it reassuring to know that God is in control and His plans are even better than our own :)
